"One Last Letter" & Jules Verne's journeys... in Lesvos!

In the beautiful island of Lesvos, with Iris Samartzi,
we lived two unforgettable book events
this Saturday 18/3, at the Book&Art Bookstore...

It was the first presentation in Greece, of our book that won the 2016 International Compostela Award: “One last letter” published in Spain by Kalandraka and in Greece by Papadopoulos.

Along with Mr. Costas we carried thousands of good news and when it came to the bad news that even one is difficult to carry we helped each other and carried the burden alltogether.

Then we used the letters of the words to transform them into images, for those that don’t know how to read and write, as Mr. Costas did, and with the help of Iris we built all the houses of the island in the book one by one...

In the afternoon we travelled From the earth to the moon then to the Center of the Earth, then 20.000 leagues under the sea and around the world in 80 days, we flied in a balloon, we jumped on a train, we prepared our bags for the trip to the earth’s core and chased submarines. After two hours of reading and playing everybody wanted more.
The word bookseller is very small to describe our beloved Valia Barbatioti. Magicmomentmaker or writerreadermatchmaker or afternooncolourer or something like that would suit her best…
